SEATTLE (AP) — Sixteen-year-old Tyler Eli knowa his summer job is special.
When the Everett AquaSox advertised for a grounds-crew member, he applied. Twenty were interviewed, and he got the job.
Duties include raking the basepaths before a baseball game. Then it’s to right-center field for at least nine innings inside the dimly lit and stuffy scoreboard.
The Seattle Times reports Eli peeks out at Everett Memorial Stadium and listens to the radio to follow the game and put up the scoreboard numbers.
Lunch is delivered around the sixth inning: one hot dog, one bag of chips and a drink.
