BARING, Wash. (AP) — KIRO-TV reports a rescue is under way on Baring Mountain in Snohomish County where a BASE jumper has been stuck in a tree since about 8 p.m. Monday.

The man is reportedly stuck in his parachute straps and hypothermia is a concern.

Rescuers made their way up the mountain overnight to be in a position to reach the man at daylight Tuesday.

Baring Mountain is just off Highway 2 and is popular with people who parachute off high places for sport. A Bothell woman died last month while BASE jumping from Baring Mountain when her chute failed to open.
