Oilers sign veteran goalie Gerber to 1-year deal

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — The Edmonton Oilers have signed goalie Martin Gerber to a one-year contract.

The 35-year-old Swiss netminder spent last season with Altant Moscow of the Continental Hockey League. In 30 appearances, he went 15-6-6 with a 2.19 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.

In 226 career NHL games with Anaheim, Carolina, Ottawa and Toronto, Gerber is 110-78-21 with a 2.65 GAA and .910 save percentage.

Gerber joins Nikolai Khabibulin, Jeff Deslauriers and Devan Dubnyk in Edmonton’s goaltending stable.
