A Life Flight helicopter crew flew a 24-year-old man to a hospital Friday evening after he crashed an SUV in the 40000 block of Northeast Miller Road, in the Bear Prairie area of far-east Clark County.

The crash was reported about 6:45 p.m., said Sgt. Tony Barnes with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Ronald J. Farmer, whose last known address was in Washougal, had been driving a 1992 Isuzu Trooper west when it failed to negotiate a corner and hit a tree.

He suffered chest injuries that weren’t believed life-threatening, and hadn’t been wearing a seat belt, Barnes said.

“You could tell by the way the steering wheel was crushed.”

Late Friday, it was uncertain which hospital Farmer had been taken to and his condition was unavailable.
