BEND, Ore. (AP) — A motorized glider has crashed into the side of a vacant factory shortly after takeoff from Bend Municipal Airport, killing the pilot.

A witness told KBND that he saw the glider take off and circle Sunday morning. It made a broad, sweeping turn before disappearing behind a vacant Cessna plane factory.

Federal Aviation Administration regional spokesman Allen Kenitzer in Seattle says a team from Portland was being dispatched to Bend to investigate.
