ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Red Sox center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury has left Boston’s game against the Texas Rangers.

The Red Sox say Ellsbury was pulled Friday night because of pain in his left side.

Ellsbury already has two stints on the disabled list this year, missing 95 games with a left chest contusion and fractured ribs. He was in his ninth game since coming off the DL.

Ellsbury was 0 for 3 but scored in Boston’s seven-run fourth inning after reaching on an error. He was replaced in the field in the bottom of that inning.
