SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Marion County sheriff’s office says an inmate apparently hanged himself in the county jail.
Deputies were conducting an hourly security check at about 6 p.m. when they found the inmate. He was alone in his cell.
The sheriff’s office says the 30-year old man has been in the jail since Aug. 12 on felony fugitive warrants from Colorado. His name has not yet been released.
The sheriff’s office is asking Linn County deputies to investigate according to its policy on jail deaths.
