SALEM, Ore. (AP) — It will be a shorter week for many state employees in Oregon this week.

State officials are already reminding Oregonians that another government shutdown day is approaching on Friday, closing most state agencies.

About 26,500 state workers will take unpaid furlough days as part of an effort to balance the budget.

It will be one of 10 scheduled Friday government closures during the 2009-2011 biennium.
