NEW YORK (AP) — Indiana Pacers draft pick Lance Stephenson has been arrested in his native New York City, accused of assaulting his girlfriend.
Police say Stephenson was taken into custody Sunday following a 5 a.m. fight with the woman in Brooklyn.
The woman was treated at a hospital for injuries sustained in a fall down a flight of stairs.
Pacers president Larry Bird said in a statement Sunday night that he is “aware of a situation involving Lance Stephenson.” He said the team is gathering information.
