Salem City Council considers backyard chickens

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Salem City Council is scheduled to decide Monday night whether to advance an ordinance that would allow residents to keep up to three hens, but no roosters, in back yards.

The Statesman Journal reports a public hearing would be held before the chicken ordinance takes effect.
