YAOUNDE, Cameroon (AP) — Former Spain coach Javier Clemente has been hired as Cameroon’s soccer coach following a World Cup in which the Indomitable Lions lost all three first-round games.

Clemente succeeds Paul Le Guen, who resigned in June.

The Cameroon soccer federation said Tuesday that Clemente agreed to a two-year contract. The 60-year-old coach will sign the contract no later than Sept. 28.

Also, former Cameroon players Francois Omam Biyik and Jacques Songo’o will be part of Clemente’s staff.
