Larsen, Koster take leads in 2nd District

SEATTLE (AP) — Democratic Rep. Rick Larsen is the top vote-getter in early results in Tuesday’s primary for the 2nd Congressional District seat. Republican challenger John Koster is second.

With 33 percent of the expected vote counted, Larsen led with 48 percent and Koster had 35 percent. The rest of the challengers had five percent or less.

Republicans are hoping to challenge Larsen in an election year with an anti-incumbent vibe. Larsen has easly won his last two elections.

Koster, a farmer from Arlington, was endorsed by former Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
