GASTON, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say the Tuesday afternoon crash of a truck hauling two trailers of hay knocked down several telephone poles and power lines and prompted the temporary closure of Oregon Highway 47 south of Gaston.

State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings says no one was injured when the rear trailer tipped onto its side and was dragged for a short distance, hitting the poles. A small fire was quickly extinguished.

Detours are available but Oregon Transportation Department officials suggest motorists avoid the area southwest of Portland.
