SEATTLE (AP) — A 20-year-old male inmate found hanging in his Kitsap County jail cell last weekend has died. The King County medical examiner’s office on Tuesday ruled the death a suicide.

The man is the second Kitsap County inmate to die from hanging this month. A 47-year-old man was found dead in his cell Aug. 11, also an apparent suicide.

A corrections officer found the younger man in his cell Saturday afternoon and jail staff performed CPR. He was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The Kitsap Sun says the younger man had been booked for investigation of second-degree burglary, and the older man for investigation of protection order violations.

Port Orchard police are investigating the deaths.
