BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — A Baker County farmer is still using horses to help harvest his wheat crop.

Marvin Brisk farms near Halfway and relies on old-fashioned horsepower for nearly every part of the wheat-harvesting process.

It includes horses turning a carousel that powers a thresher for the wheat and another that operates a baler for the straw.

Brisk also uses modern machines on his farm. But he told the Baker City Herald he likes to keep the traditional practices alive.
