MCMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) — Pilots for Evergreen International Airlines working without a contract since 1999 have rejected a proposed labor agreement six years in the making.

The McMinnville News-Register reports the vote was 96 percent to 4 percent against the proposal brokered by the National Mediation Board.

The Evergreen pilots union, which affiliated with the Air Line Pilots Association International three years ago in hopes of breaking a stalemate, represents 224 pilots and flight engineers.

The Evergreen pilots have received small increases in living expense allocations but have not gotten an actual pay raise.

The airline is a subsidiary of Evergreen International Aviation Inc., a privately held air freight and aviation services company based in McMinnville.
