BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) — A Beaverton teacher facing dismissal after founding a website called “crash the Tea Party” has resigned.
The Oregonian reported Friday that middle school teacher Jason Leaven resigned Wednesday in lieu of termination.
Beaverton School District officials would not say why Leaven was facing dismissal.
But the district’s legal counsel, Camellia Osterink, said it followed an internal investigation into his use of public resources and time spent at school.
Leaven told the newspaper that his attorney advised him not to comment.
Leaven was a media lab technology teacher at Conestoga Middle School when he drew media attention last spring for the now defunct site that encouraged people to infiltrate the Tea Party to disrupt it.
