NEW YORK (AP) — Kansas City Wizards forward Teal Bunbury has been fined $250 and suspended for a game by MLS because of what should have been a red-card offense against San Jose.

Bunbury wasn’t even called for fouling Earthquakes defender Tim Ward. Major League Soccer’s disciplinary committee reviewed the play that was missed by game officials in the 47th minute and decided that Bunbury endangered Ward’s safety.

Bunbury miss the Wizards’ next league game, Aug. 21 against the New England Revolution.
