SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — Jacob Jones’ two homers Saturday helped Hamilton, Ohio, outslug Toms River, N.J., 16-6 at the Little League World Series.

Columbus, Ga., made a victorious tournament debut, too, beating Waipahu, Hawaii, 6-2 in a matchup of local leagues that have World Series titles. Georgia won in 2006, and Hawaii took the crown in 2008.

Knox Carter starred for Georgia with a homer. He got tips about what the World Series might be like from his cousin, Kyle, who played on the 2006 Georgia squad.

Canada beat Panama, 4-2, in the other early game. The late contests featured Panama and Saudi Arabia, and an elimination game between Washington and Minnesota.
