SEABECK, Wash. (AP) — Volunteers are throwing oysters back in the waters of Hood Canal at Scenic Beach State Park near Seabeck.

Hundreds of thousands of oysters were washed too high on the beach.

The Kitsap Sun says it’s a mystery how the oysters washed up, but some people suspect it was the wake from a Navy ship that trained Aug. 11 near Quilcene.
