SEATTLE (AP) — Three boats and three boat houses burned in an explosive fire early Tuesday at the Jim Clark Marina on Harbor Island in Seattle.

Fire Department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick says one boat sank, one burned to the water line and the third has damage to the exterior.

She says one boat house collapsed and two adjacent boat coverings are damaged.

Neighbors reported hearing an explosion shortly after 4 a.m. Arriving firefighters untied one burning boat to isolate it. Firefighters fought the flames from the pier and a fireboat.

There were no injuries. No word yet on the cause or a damage estimate.

The department notified the Coast Guard of a potential fuel spill.

Fitzpatrick says foam used by firefighters is biodegradable.
