NEW YORK (AP) — The line judge who called a foot fault on Serena Williams in last year’s U.S. Open semifinals will officiate at this year’s tournament.

The tournament has issued a statement to The Associated Press on Saturday, saying that Shino Tsurubuchi “is a world class official and we are confident in her abilities.”

She will be a lineswoman for men’s and women’s matches at the U.S. Open, which begins Monday. The statement says Tsurubuchi will “rotate through the various on-court officiating positions,” which would include along the baseline.

That was the spot Tsurubuchi was working when she called a foot fault on a second serve by Williams, resulting in a double-fault and prompting a profanity-laced, finger-pointing tirade by the American.
