FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have placed starting cornerback Leigh Bodden on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

In other moves Tuesday, the Patriots put three other players on that season-ending list — safety Josh Barrett with a shoulder injury, defensive back Brett Lockett with a chest injury and defensive lineman Darryl Richard with a foot injury. They also released defensive back Terrence Johnson to get down to the 75-player roster limit.

Bodden had missed much of training camp but returned to practice last week and played in Thursday’s 36-35 exhibition loss to the St. Louis Rams.
