HAYDEN, Idaho (AP) — A KKK snowman in Hayden has appalled neighbors.

KXLY-TV reports the snowman wears a pointed hood and at one time held a noose. It was seen in a front yard Wednesday by neighbors driving kids to a nearby Meadows Elementary School. One told the Spokane station they were appalled by the sign of hatred in a season of love and hope.

KXLY reports the snowman is at the home of a white supremacist who also flies Aryan Nations and SS flags. On Halloween he passed out bullet casings instead of candy.

Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies went to the home Wednesday and said a criminal complaint could have been filed if the noose hadn’t been removed.
