Beeson elected Ore. school boards president

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon School Boards Association has elected David Beeson of the Silver Falls School District as its new president.

The board said the Silverton sheep rancher and artist has contributed a significant amount of volunteer time to public education over the years, including 10 years as a member of the Willamette Education Service District board.

Beeson is in his third term on the Silver Falls School Board. This will be his second term as president of the statewide group. He served previously as president in 2005-06.
