EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Chad Greenway and the Minnesota Vikings are hoping that his best season to date will wind up with his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Greenway has 108 tackles this season. That ranks third in the NFL and tops in the NFC, ahead of such well-known tackling demons as San Francisco’s Patrick Willis, Baltimore’s Ray Lewis and Washington’s London Fletcher.

It comes at a good time for him. Greenway is in the final year of his rookie contract and has increased his worth on the free agent market.

Greenway grew up a Vikings fan in tiny Mt. Vernon, S.D. He says he feels at home in the Twin Cities with his wife and daughter and is getting gentle pushes from the family in South Dakota to stay close to home.
