PITTSBURGH (AP) — Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been restricted in practice for a third consecutive day because of a right foot injury that is causing him to limp while off the field.
Roethlisberger wore a protective shoe during practice again Friday, but it’s not approved for games.
Roethlisberger’s injury was initially identified as a sprained right foot, but further exams revealed scar tissue from a previous injury. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in Baltimore.
To relieve stress on his foot, Roethlisberger may line up much of the game in a shotgun formation.
Tight end Matt Spaeth (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game. Defensive end Brett Keisel (calf), cornerback Bryant McFadden (hamstring) and safety Troy Polamalu (Achilles) are probable.
