Clark defeats Blue Mountain

Lucas Swanson scored 19 points to lead four Clark College players in double figures as the Penguins defeated Blue Mountain 80-67 in men’s basketball action Saturday at the O’Connell Center in Vancouver.

Swanson, a Mountain View High grad, was 6-for-12 from the field and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line. He also had six rebounds and two steals.

Dan Anderson, a Camas grad, and Derek Owens each had 13 points, and Arman Kalan, a Fort Vancouver grad, added 10 points.

Blue Mountain (0-2) of Pendleton, Ore., was led by Tavin Hurley’s game-high 26 points. He was 10 for 10 from the free-throw line.

The game was tied at halftime 33-33, and Clark improved its shooting in the second half from 36 percent to 52 percent. Clark also force 18 turnovers.

The Penguins (3-2) host the Concordia JV on Thursday.
