PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police say five people have been killed in a bomb blast near a bus station in northwest Pakistan.

Police officer Jahangir Khan says the blast Wednesday went off in the city of Kohat in the troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

He says several people were wounded in the attack. The target was not immediately clear.

Islamist militants have carried out scores of bombings in recent years in Pakistan.
