EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon man has been charged with murder after the body of the woman who shared a house with him was found in the back yard.
The Register-Guard reports that 24-year-old Miguel Angel Chavez was arrested after the body of 55-year-old Deborah Ann Stone was found in a shallow grave in the back yard of her Eugene home.
Eugene police say the relationship between Chavez and Stone was unclear.
No details about the death were released.
Police were called to Stone’s home on Monday, after a family member reported her missing. Investigators discovered her body several hours later.
