Austrians, Russians dominate snowboard event

LIMONE PIEMONTE, Italy (AP) — Olympic silver medalist Benjamin Karl of Austria has won a snowboard parallel giant slalom World Cup event.

Karl led an all-Austrian podium, beating teammate Andreas Prommegger on Friday. Manuel Veith was third.

Ekaterina Tudegesheva led an all-Russia podium finish in the women’s event. She defeated Alena Zavarzina, and Svetlana Boldykova was third.

Parallel slalom races are scheduled for Saturday.
