SEATTLE (AP) — A boy accused of an attempted robbery on a Seattle bus last August when he was 10 years old will be prosecuted.

The Seattle Times reports the boy said he understood the seriousness of the crimes and pleaded not guilty Friday in King County Juvenile Court.

Prosecutors say the boy and two half brothers, 12 and 14, were attempting to rob a passenger when the younger boy was shot and wounded in a scuffle. The half brothers have pleaded guilty.

The boy, now 11, also is charged with another bus robbery in which a man’s earring was stolen and with a bicycle theft, both in June.

Seattle police say the boy has been investigated 13 times since he was 8 years old.
