Nationals agree to minor-league deal with Gaudin

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Nationals have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Chad Gaudin on a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to spring training.

The 27-year-old Gaudin is 35-39 with a 4.61 ERA in 258 games, including 75 starts, over eight seasons with the New York Yankees, Oakland, San Diego, the Chicago Cubs, Toronto and Tampa Bay.

He split time with Oakland and the Yankees last year, going 1-4 with a 5.65 ERA in 42 relief appearances.

Gaudin tied for the American League lead with 34 starts in 2007, going 11-13 with a 4.42 ERA with Oakland.
