ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Kendall Williams knocked down two 3-pointers in the final minute of the first half to cap a 16-4 run that propelled New Mexico to a 91-54 victory over Longwood on Friday night.

The freshman guard finished with career highs of 20 points and six assists to help the Lobos (8-1) overcome early struggles with the Lancers (3-9), who lost their seventh straight.

Longwood led 17-10 with 12 minutes to go in the first half and still held a 25-23 advantage with 4:25 left before New Mexico went on the pivotal run for its sixth consecutive win. The Lobos grabbed the lead for good on a Tony Snell dunk that put them up 29-27.

With 8:24 left, a fire alarm that officials said was set off by smoke in a kitchen led to the evacuation of the arena. The game restarted without incident 35 minutes later.
