James Madison rallies past South Florida 66-61

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Denzel Bowles had 24 points and seven rebounds, leading James Madison to a 66-61 victory over South Florida on Saturday night.

Jawanza Poland and Hugh Robertson each scored a season-high 19 for South Florida (6-6). Jarrid Famous added 11 points, all in the first half, and 10 rebounds for the Bulls.

Bowles had 15 points in the second half, helping James Madison (8-3) overcome a 10-point deficit. Devon Moore added 14 points and Rayshawn Goins grabbed 11 rebounds for the Dukes.

South Florida hit seven of its first eight shots en route to an 18-4 advantage. James Madison immediately responded with a 17-2 run for the first of six lead changes in the opening half.

The Bulls led 34-30 at the break and rebuilt their lead to 10 points in the second half before Bowles led the winning rally.
