RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Justin Graham scored 24 points, Keith Shamburger added a career-high 22 and San Jose State cruised to a 86-70 victory over Seattle Saturday night.
The Spartans (7-3) led by 11 points at halftime and pulled away from Seattle after the break. Shamburger scored seven points during a 10-2 run to open the second half. The Redhawks (4-10) were unable to mount a rally as their only hot hand, forward Alex Jones, fouled out with 10 minutes to play.
Jones had 17 of his 21 points in the first half, going 6 for 6 from the field and 5 for 5 from the free-throw line before the break. The rest of Seattle’s lineup shot just 27 percent from the field in the half.
San Jose State’s Adrian Oliver entered the game as the nation’s third-leading scorer, but was held scoreless in the early going and finished with 13 points.
