KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — An Afghan official says four suicide bombers have attacked an army recruitment center in northern Afghanistan and killed at least four members of the security forces there.
Kunduz province Deputy Gov. Amdullah Danishi says the attackers stormed the recruitment center Sunday morning and at least one of them was able to detonate his explosives. The blast shattered windows in nearby homes. He says the victims may be soldiers or police guarding the center.
He says three of the attackers were killed in the initial assault but one was still alive and fighting with government forces inside the center. Further details were not immediately available.
