Wichita State nips LSU 70-69

BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) — Garrett Stutz hit a 3-pointer with 7 seconds remaining to give Wichita State a 70-69 win over Louisiana State on Saturday night.

J.T. Durley, Toure Murry and David Kyles each scored 13 points and Stutz had 12 for the Shockers (8-2), which won their third straight game.

LSU rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to take a 68-64 lead with 36 seconds to play. The Shockers ended the game with a 6-1 run.

Wichita State made 14 of 17 free throws (82.1 percent) in the first half and held LSU to 22.9 percent shooting from the field (8 for 35) during that span.

Ralston Turner scored 21 points, Andre Stringer had 18 and Garrett Green added 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Tigers (7-4), who have lost two of their past three. It was another close call for the Tigers, whose previous three games were a 4-point loss, an overtime loss and an overtime win.
