SILVERDALE, Wash. (AP) — A man killed in a house fire near Silverdale is believed to be the younger brother of a man who also lived at the house and survived.

Central Kitsap Fire Duty Chief Joe Repar says the older brother was working in a shop on the property Monday afternoon when the power went off and he heard crackling from the fire. He was driven back from the home by smoke and flames.

The Kitsap Sun reports he called 911 from a neighbor’s house. When firefighters worked their way inside the burning house they found the body in the living room.
