RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant is expecting to play this week against Tampa Bay after having to leave last week’s game against Atlanta with back spasms.
Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Trufant will be eased back into practice this week, but he is feeling better and expects to play.
Trufant left late in the first half last Sunday and Atlanta QB Matt Ryan quickly started picking on reserve cornerback Kennard Cox, leading to a go-ahead touchdown just before halftime.
Defensive tackle Junior Siavii will be held out this week after suffering a serious stinger against Atlanta. Carroll said the team will be monitoring Siavii very closely.
