NEW YORK (AP) — Redshirt sophomore guard Quincy Roberts will leave the St. John’s basketball program and will transfer for the spring semester.

Red Storm coach Steve Lavin made the announcement Tuesday before St. John’s played Northwestern in the championship game of the Holiday Festival.

Roberts played in 41 games over 212 seasons with the Red Storm. He was granted a medical redshirt for the 2009-10 season, after playing in four games, because of migraines. He played in four games this season, averaging 1.0 point in 7.8 minutes.

Roberts averaged 5.0 points as a freshman in 2008-09, playing in 33 games and starting nine.
