Spradlin leads Elon past Navy 73-58

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Drew Spradlin scored 14 points to lead four players in double figures as Elon defeated Navy 73-58 on Wednesday night.

Spradlin hit four 3-pointers and Chris Long, who scored 13 points, had three for the Phoenix (5-7), who entered the game third in the country with an average of 10.1 3-pointers a game, and went 13 of 33 (39.4 percent).

Elon led most of the game, but Navy (4-9), which has lost three straight games, grabbed a 53-51 lead on the three-point play by Jordan Sugars with 5:25 remaining.

Spradlin countered with a 3-pointer for a 54-53 lead and after two free throws, Sebastian Koch followed with another 3-pointer for a 59-54 advantage with 3:28 remaining.

Elon outscored Navy 22-5 in the final 5:25.

Koch finished with 11 points, Jack Isenbarger added 10 and Roger Dugas had 13 rebounds.

Sugars led Navy with 21 points.

Elon outrebounded Navy 46-27.
