Gadson leads Rider to 77-68 win over La Salle

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Novar Gadson scored 14 of his 25 points in the second half to lead Rider to a 77-68 victory over La Salle on Wednesday night.

Eight of Gadson’s points came during a 22-6 run by the Broncs (8-5) that turned a 54-49 deficit with 10:56 remaining into a 71-60 lead with 4:47 to play.

Rider shot 56.7 percent (17 of 30) in the second half to 33.3 percent (11 of 33) for the Explorers (6-6).

La Salle led 34-33 after a first half in which Rider led by as many as seven, 23-16. The Explorers scored the next 10 points, five of them by Sam Mills, to go ahead 26-23 with 5:01 until halftime.

Mike Ringgold added 18 points for Rider and Justin Robinson had seven assists.

Jerrell Williams had 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead La Salle, which also got 13 points and 10 rebounds from Aaric Murray.
