Holiday closures in Clark County

What’s open and what’s closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:

• GARBAGE: Waste Connections, which serves most of Clark County, will operate on the regular schedule Friday. In Camas, normal Friday service will be performed Monday.

• MAIL: Regular home delivery Friday; no delivery Saturday except for Express Mail. Most post offices close at noon Friday, reopening on Monday. The main post office at 2700 Caples Road is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The postal unit inside the Shell gas station at Fisher’s Landing, 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

• PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Classes resume Jan. 3.

• COLLEGES: Classes resume at Clark College on Monday, Jan. 3, and at Washington State University Vancouver on Monday, Jan. 10.

• PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Fort Vancouver Regional Library branches and bookmobiles closed Friday and Saturday. Camas Public Library closed Friday and Saturday.

• GOVERNMENT: Most federal, state, county and city offices open today, closed Friday. Battle Ground city offices closed today through Friday.

• BUSES: C-Tran buses follow reduced schedule Friday and Sunday/holiday schedule Saturday. TriMet buses and MAX trains follow regular schedule Friday and the Sunday schedule on Saturday.

• PARKING: Meters in downtown Vancouver free Friday.

• BANKS: Some closed all day Friday, but most close at 2 or 3 p.m. Closed Saturday.

• FINANCIAL MARKETS: New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and other markets closed Friday and Saturday.

• DRIVER LICENSING: State offices closed Friday through Monday for the holiday and a temporary layoff. County and private offices are not affected by Monday’s layoff.

• VEHICLE LICENSING: Offices closed Friday and Saturday.

• EMISSIONS TESTING: Stations closed Friday and Saturday.

• ZOO: Oregon Zoo open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; closed Saturday.

• LIQUOR STORES: State-operated stores open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; closed Saturday. Some contract liquor stores may be open both days.

• ANIMAL SHELTER: Humane Society for Southwest Washington shelter open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; closed Saturday.

• CLARK COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM: Closed Friday and Saturday.

• SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON BLOOD CENTER: 9320 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive, Suite 100, Vancouver, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; closed Saturday.

• FORT VANCOUVER NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE: Visitor center and fort closed Friday and Saturday.

• WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Mall hours are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. today; 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; closed Saturday. Four anchor stores have slightly different hours today or Friday: J.C. Penney, 7 a.m. to midnight today; Macy’s, 7 a.m. to midnight today; Nordstrom, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; and Sears, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m today.

• THE COLUMBIAN: Circulation customer service lines, 360-694-2312, open 4:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; 6 a.m. to noon Saturday. Offices are open Friday; closed Saturday.
