GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn has proved he belongs in the NFL. And he’s confident he’ll be a starter some day.
With Aaron Rodgers sidelined by a concussion for last Sunday night’s game at New England, Flynn threw for 251 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He came up just short on a late drive that could have given the Packers an improbable victory.
Rodgers was back at practice this week and is expected to start Sunday’s home game against the New York Giants. Flynn says he is happy about Rodgers’ return and isn’t disappointed about going back to the bench.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy says Flynn showed football fans everywhere the same skills coaches see in practice every day.
