CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived forward Jawad Williams.
Williams averaged 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in 15 minutes per game for the struggling Cavs (8-20), who have dropped 13 of 14 following a loss Sunday to the Minnesota Timberwolves (7-24). A Cleveland native, Williams started six games and played in 54 last season for the Cavs. He also appeared in three playoff games.
In a statement, general manager Chris Grant thanked Williams for contributions on the court and in the community.
