MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Javier Carter led four players in double figures as South Alabama easily defeated Mobile 90-48 on Monday night.
Augustine Rubit and Martino Brock each had 16 points for the Jaguars and Rubit narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds. Tim Williams didn’t miss his double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds as South Alabama (6-5) won its fourth in a row.
The Jaguars started 7 for 9 from floor and jumped out to a 16-6 lead against the Rams, an NAIA team. Later, South Alabama added an 11-0 run to open up a 33-15 advantage. The Jaguars finished the half on a 19-7 spurt to lead 39-22 at the break.
Ji Kimbrough led Mobile (7-3), which plays in the NAIA’s Southern States Athletic Conference, with 15 points. He was the Rams’ only player in double figures.
The Jaguars began the second half with a 13-3 run and outscored Mobile 51-26 in the final 20 minutes.
