DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — AC Milan director Umberto Gandini says the team has no plans to part with striker Ronaldinho “for the moment.”
Italian media have speculated that the Brazilian will be moving to one of several interested Brazilian sides in the January transfer window, or to another Serie A club. The speculation intensified after the team signed Italy forward Antonio Cassano from Sampdoria this month.
Gandini says Ronaldinho arrived Monday in Dubai and took part in training before an exhibition match against a local club on Jan. 2. Gandini said it was the desire of club owner and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi “that he (Ronaldinho) will play and stay with Milan for the moment.”
