ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) — A 6-year-old girl has been killed in a car crash near Aberdeen, and investigators say she does not appear to have been wearing a seatbelt.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott tells KXRO-AM that Kiahna Howard was ejected from the minivan along with her grandmother, who was driving, when it collided with another car Tuesday evening.

Scott says the grandmother suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in satisfactory condition at a hospital. A State Patrol expert found that she showed signs of impairment when she was questioned, and Scott says she could be charged with vehicular homicide if a blood draw indicates she was driving under the influence.

Investigators say the minivan started to go off the road and the driver over-corrected into the path of an oncoming vehicle. No one in the other car was injured.
