TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says it’s investigating a theft ring that targeted newly delivered packages over the holidays.

Detective Ed Troyer tells The News Tribune that the thieves hit at least 11 homes in the Gig Harbor area, and several other victims have yet to file reports. The thieves followed delivery trucks and grabbed packages off porches just after they were delivered.

Troyer says the packages included Christmas gifts for children.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested after a surveillance camera at one of the homes allegedly caught her, and some items were have been recovered. Detectives say they’re looking for three more people who they believe were involved.
